Looking through the archives, we’ve found this report, published in August 2004, which sets out the views of local residents on life in the village. The report found that 90% of people thought that the village was either a brilliant or good place to live.
Some of the things people had called for – like a path to Galashiels, a new school, traffic calming signs, recycling facilities, a bus shelter by the hotel, and broadband – have arrived, but others – including an end to dog fouling, expansion of the play park, a swimming pool and cash machine – have not.
