The summer fair was a huge success despite the downpours! View photos from the day here.
Message from the Clovenfords Summer Fair Committee:
All the members of the Summer Fair Committee would like to thank everyone who helped, donated, baked, but especially all those who came along to make the day the success it was. The weather didn’t deter people and we would like to thank the Ex-Servicemen’s Pipe Band for starting us off with flair. The fancy dress costumes were fantastic and there wasn’t a bought one in sight. Well done! Unfortunately, some activities had to be cancelled due to the weather but at least several of you managed to get to the top of the climbing wall.
It was also fitting that the Braw Lass, Alex, and the Braw Lad, Mark, opened the play park. Unfortunately, Alex had to leave to compete in a riding competition the next day, but ex Braw Lass Alice helped Mark to judge the bake-off. The cakes were fantastic and we’re sure the judges enjoyed tasting them all! It was a tough decision to make. It was also nice to see the children entering into the spirit with the races and not letting the rain put them off.
We must also thank all those at the Village Hall for the loan of the tents – they were definitely needed! Also thanks to all those who brought a gazebo along and to the Church Group for providing teas and coffees. The bunting also brightened up the village – thanks to Dave Houston for the loan of that.
Thanks, once again, to you all.
